NHRC demands reports on farmers stir from central and state government

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued letters to the Centre and the governments of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan today in response to concerns that the current farmers’ demonstrations had negatively impacted industry and commuters. There have been claims of a negative impact on industrial units, affecting over 9000 micro, medium, and big businesses. Transportation is allegedly impacted as well, causing commuters, patients, physically challenged persons, and older residents to suffer as a result of the excessive traffic on the roadways. It further stated that because the agitation is about human rights, the right to agitate peacefully must be recognised. Various human rights problems must be addressed by the commission.
