Following a steep rise in Covid-19 cases, Andhra Pradesh has decided to impose a partial lockdown from May 5 (Wednesday) across the state for two weeks. The decision was taken by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at a review meeting today at the camp office in Amaravati. Shops will be open only from 6 am-12 pm. Essential services will remain unaffected. Andhra Pradesh reported 23,920 Covid-19 cases on Sunday, the highest single-day surge since the beginning of the pandemic.
