The wildfires that ravaged Australia early this year brought death and destruction all across the continent. Native animal species lost their lives and habitats, and many threatened species got closer to extinction. A new study by commissioned by the ‘World Wide Fund for Nature’ now estimates that nearly 3 billion animals were affected by the bushfire season.
