After CBSE cuts down syllabus, Karnataka follows suit. Drastic ommissions are being seen in the syllabus. This move was taken to reduce pressure on students due to COVID-19. Chapters on Tipu Sultan, Rajput history, teachings of Jesus and Mohammad deleted from the syllabus.
Imran says the government also is looking to reduce syllabus from subjects like English and Maths. Due to teaching shifted to online mode, reduction in the syllabus will remove pressure on students. The syllabus deleted will be taken up as assignments. People accused the govt. of selecting a few chapters.
Brijesh Kalappa from Congress says the selective chapters have obliterated 50 years of Karnataka history. Mr S Prakash from BJP says it should be seen from the view of the pandemic crisis. This is no political angle. This is a temporary phenomenon and 30% syllabus has been cut.
