Supreme Court begins contempt case against Prashant Bhushan for his tweets against the apex court

The Supreme Court has initiated the contempt case against advocate Prashant Bhushan for tweeting against the judiciary in the past few months. the advocate has very recently tweeted that the last four CJIs have been instrumental in diluting the democracy in India.

The Supreme Court initiated suo motu contempt of court proceedings with a three bench judge presiding over the matter. Bhushan has also been a critic of the court’s handling of the lockdown judgments with respect to the migrants. He also spoke on the jailed activists like Varavara Rao and Sudha Bharadwaj and the lack of judicial system in their cases. Watch the video to know more!
