The Iranian film Muhammad: the messenger of God has become a controversial topic in Maharashtra for its release on July 21. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has reacted saying that the Muslim body sought a ban on the release of the particular film on the digital platforms. He said that he has forwarded the request to the centre for the same as the movie can hurt religious sentiments. Raza Academy had filed a complaint against the same stating that the movie is against the religious ideals of Islam. He states that the government is seeking a ban under the IT act.
