Kerala: Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple dispute wraps up, Royals to hold shebait rights

After over nine years of hearing the case, the Supreme Court finally makes a verdict on Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple located in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district. The decision upheld the rights of the erstwhile royal family of Travancore in the administration and management.

In 2011, Kerala High Court had ruled out that the State Government must take complete control over the temple instead of the royal family. However, the decision has now been reversed after it was challenged in the Supreme Court. Now, the Royals will have shebait rights on the temple and the panel will manage temple affairs.
