Singapore election: Voters cast ballots with masks, gloves amid pandemic

The 2020 Singaporean general election started at 8 a.m. on Friday (July 10). About 2.6 million Singaporeans are expected to vote at over 1,000 polling stations.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, arrangements have been made by the Elections Department (ELD) to ensure the safety of voters.

Sample counts are expected soon after polls close at 8 p.m. local time and the full makeup of the next parliament is likely to be known by early Saturday morning.
