Punjab National Bank has reported a fraud of Rs 3,688 crore in a DHFL account. The state-owned bank stated that the fraud was noted in an NPA account of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation to the Reserve Bank of India. It is said that Dewan Housing Finance Corporation came into the eye of a storm after the reports that suggested that the company through layers of shell companies allegedly siphoned off Rs 31,000 crore out of total bank loans worth Rs 97,000 crore.
