Odisha: Government revives COVID fee on liquor; 15% fee levied on alcoholic beverages

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, as the government allowed the sale of alcoholic beverages during the lockdown period, the Odisha government revised the COVID rates on alcoholic beverages. The goverment stated that 15 percent will be imposed on alcoholic beverages. It also stated that rationalization will be done in a manner that the MRPs of various kinds of liquor sold in the state will be priced above 15 percent over the prevailing MRP of the year 2019 and 2020. Since the sale of alcoholic beverages has increased. The government is taking steps to rationalize the price. Listen in for more details.
