COVID-19: What will a local lockdown mean for Leicester's residents?

The first local lockdown in England is set to be enforced in Leicester, amid a spike of coronavirus cases in the city.

The easing of COVID-19 restrictions across the country, which is set to take effect on Saturday 4 July, will not apply within the East Midlands city, with pubs, restaurants, cafes, hairdressers and barbers remaining shut.

A total of 10% of all positive coronavirus cases in the country in the past week occurred in Leicester.
