Shots fired as protesters try to tear down a statue of a conquistador in New Mexico

Protesters in New Mexico gathered outside the Albuquerque Museum to tear down a statue of the Spanish conquistador Juan de Oñate. Protesters were confronted by a group of armed men who were trying to protect the statue. The conflict quickly escalated into shooting, and concluded with one man being rushed to hospital in critical but stable condition.
