Al Sharpton told mourners that George Floyd’s fatal encounter with police and the nationwide protests his death ignited marked a reckoning for America over race and justice, demanding, “Get your knee off our necks.” Family, friends, politicians, civil rights activists, and celebrities all gathered in Minneapolis to pay tribute to George Floyd. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey knelt and appeared to weep before George Floyd’s casket.
