Mexico kicks off ‘new normal’ phase despite alarming Covid-19 death toll

Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador promised a “new normal” as the federal government’s rules of social distancing officially ended on Monday, June 1st. But with Latin America being on top of the World’s coronavirus hotspots, many question the wisdom of returning to any kind of normal: Mexico is Latin America’s second worst-hit country, only behind Brazil.
