Cyclone Nisarga Over Arabian Sea: Mumbai On Alert, 10 NDRF Units Deployed For Rescue Operations

Maharashtra and Gujarat coastal districts are to be hit by Cyclone Nisarga by tomorrow afternoon or evening. A red-alert has been already sounded off. The cyclone is right now 430 km away from Mumbai over the Arabian Sea. The deep depression might turn into a severe cyclonic storm and may intensify in the next 12 hours. Mumbai, Thane, Palgarh, and Raigarh in Maharashtra are in state of top-most alert. Fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea. A warning has been sounded off already and NDRF teams are on stand both in Maharashtra and Gujarat. 10 NDRF units have been deployed for the rescue operations. This will be the first-ever severe cyclone for the city of Mumbai.
