Delhi Witnesses Biggest Single-Day Spike, Records Over 1000 Cases In Just 24 Hours

Witnessing its biggest single-day spike in coronavirus cases, Delhi on Thursday recorded over 1,000 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital to 16,281.

According to Delhi’s Directorate General of Health Services, as many as 1,024 fresh cases and 13 deaths due to coronavirus were recorded in the city in the last 24 hours.

With the addition of these cases, the total number of coronavirus cases in Delhi has now risen to 16,281. Out of them, around 7,495 patients have successfully recovered while 316 have succumbed to the deadly disease. Some 8,470 cases are currently active in Delhi.

There are 2,196 positive cases admitted to COVID-19 hospitals in Delhi. Out of them, at least 197 are in ICU while 31 are on the ventilator. Meanwhile, in the coronavirus-designated health centres in the national capital, around 129 confirmed cases have been admitted so far.
