The coronavirus lockdowns have been brutal for many women across the world. Experts warn that women need direct-assistance, including access to modern-day contraception as unintended pregnancies rise and maternal deaths in some countries surge. Estimates say 49 million women are without access to contraception, there are 15 million more unintended pregnancies, 168,000 newborn deaths, 28,000 maternal deaths and 3 million unsafe abortions.
