Tollygunge: Public anger spilling on to the street. Times Now visits their slum area where people had blocked the road to pour out their frustration. The local councillor hasn’t visited their place, the local Mla who also happens to be the state power minister hadn’t met them. They are angry because there is no power. Trees have fallen. Poles have fallen. No power condition. The police did try negotiating with them but they remained intact. In absolute violation of social distancing, these people had gathered. They are saying if not corona this heat will kill them if they have to live without power. They are asking what is a bigger threat, corona or life without power? Cyclone Amphan in its aftermath is now stoking public unrest.
