Des Ki Baat takes a look at the complete lack of regard shown by the police, district administrations and the government towards lakhs of migrant workers who have been under severe distress due to the coronavirus lockdown. Migrant workers numbering thousands queue up for days to get themselves passes issued to travel back home by train. Many opt for alternatives such as travelling by trucks or by foot hundreds of kilometres back to their native districts. The worst affected are those who do not have valid identification documents as without these the officers in-charge cannot update records of travellers. The record books are maintained for purposes of contact tracing in case any of the migrants workers is found to be infected with coronavirus. (Audio in Hindi)
