1. An update on the Corona positive cases, the Total tally or the count has already crossed 1 lakh mark with a single day spike of 4,970 cases reported in the last 24 hours and 134 deaths. Total cases as of now in the country are 101139 and the death toll has crossed the 3000 mark. 58802 are the active cases, 39173 are individuals who have been discharged and 3163 deaths reported. However, the recovery rate is giving us a lot of hope as it has reached 40% mark. People are recovering which is the only positive thing amid all the news of COVID cases in India.

2. As the entire world is waiting for a COVID vaccine, United States President Donald Trump has revived the Hydroxychloroquine debate. He says that he has been taking the anti-malarial drug for a week now. More details of Donald Trump’s letter to the WHO Chief on Hydroxychloroquine and in fact he has threatened to permanently freeze funding for World Health Organisation. Pressure from the global community is working on China which is willing to now allow that independent impartial probe on the origin of COVID-19 perhaps in the wet markets of Wuhan. A Massachusetts says that its experimental vaccine against the Coronavirus showed encouraging results in very early testing.

3. The Chief Ministers meeting with the Home Minister regarding cyclone Amphan. It is expected to make landfall in West Bengal. Meanwhile, already there has been a lot of damage which has been done by the super cyclone as it called as India is bracing for heavy rainfall as well as very high-velocity winds which are expected. It will continue over the next couple of days. The Chief Minister are taking stock of the situation on ground and are giving a briefing to what is the level of preparedness. West Bengal has already given out alarms in Tamil Nadu to the fishermen, they have been told to stay off the beaches and water.
