Czech pilots, who finance the flights themselves, have carried out 31 flights in less than two weeks to distribute medical material across the country amid the coronavirus outbreak. Almost 400 Czech pilots have joined the initiative.

Taking turns, the pilots, who finance the flights themselves, have carried out 31 flights in less than two weeks.
One of the pilots is Martin Sonka, the Red Bull Air Race champion from 2018.
To stem the spread of the virus, the Czech government closed the borders, most shops, all pubs, cinemas and theaters in mid-March. It has also banned most public gatherings of more than two people and ordered citizens to wear masks outside their homes.
The Czech Republic registered 5,467 cases of the novel coronavirus including 122 deaths as of Thursday. (AFP)
