Police in Spain’s Canary Islands are using drones and helicopters to patrol the vast and deserted territory looking for anyone disrespecting the strict confinement measures ahead of Easter holidays, Tuesday, April 7.

Spain’s civil guard released aerial footage Tuesday from its operations over the weekend and said it identified at least seven people on the islands of Tenerife and Fuerteventura breaking the rules and enjoying the outdoors, sun and sea instead of staying at home.

Authorities are reminding Spaniards and residents of Spain that despite the Easter holiday, the entire country remains under a strict lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.
