Japan ramps up coronavirus lockdown measures amid outbreak concerns in Tokyo | ABC News



A state of emergency has been declared in Japan to prevent an outbreak in the capital. The number of coronavirus cases in Tokyo has doubled in the past week, with more than 1,000 cases recorded.

China has reported no new deaths from coronavirus for the first time since the crisis began.

The number of new cases there has also dropped to only 32 — all from people returning from overseas.
