Queensland has had 70 new COVID-19 cases overnight, bringing the state’s total to 625.

It comes as more than 1 million Queenslanders head to polling booths across the state today, minus the democracy sausage sizzles and how-to-vote cards.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said she had no concerns about people heading out to vote.
