A group of North Macedonian priests spayed holy water on the streets and cars of the town of Veles as their way of battling the spread of the new coronavirus.
According to the Povardarska Diocese, holy water is used to protect people against wars, earthquakes and other disasters and the local church has decided to spray all towns in their area of responsibility, while reading the scriptures from the Bible.
Priests have prayed to God to give people a blessing and stop the spread of the pandemic. There is no scientific evidence holy water can help prevent COVID-19.
North Macedonia has reported 201 positive cases of coronavirus and four deaths.(AP)
