Hong Kong’s chief executive Carrie Lam has not ruled out the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle, following media reports about the measure.
Lam has said the cabinet reshuffle is not QUOTE “an immediate task”. But, her top priority for now is to restore law and order. On Tuesday, a Hong Kong-based newspaper said China was considering a cabinet reshuffle in the city by the end of the year to address the ongoing unrest there. The Chinese-ruled region has witnessed anti-government protests, sometimes violent, for more than six months now. The rallies began against a now-withdrawn extradition bill, and later turned into calls for reforms. China accuses the West, particularly the US, of fueling the unrest.
