The latest scandal in the world of K-pop has seen two of its biggest stars Jung Joon-young and Choi Jong-hoon jailed for gang raping drunk unconscious women.
The sentencing follows the recent deaths of singers Goo Hara and Sulli – so what’s gone wrong with K-pop?
K-Pop expert, and Assoc. Professor of Korean studies, Jo Elfving-Hwang says the industry is underpinned by misogyny, and the objectification of women’s bodies.
