The Prime Minister has joined condemnation of China for its treatment of an Australian citizen who has been detained for much of the year, isolated from family and lawyers.
Fears are growing for the welfare of democracy activist Yang Hengjun who is now subjected to daily interrogations while shackled by his wrists and ankles.
