Two outspoken Liberal politicians have rejected demands from Beijing to “repent” for criticising the Chinese regime.

Andrew Hastie and James Paterson were denied visas over what the Chinese embassy called “unwarranted attacks” on their nation.

But the MPs have seized on an extraordinary leak of government papers from inside the ruling Communist Party, to reinforce their views.
