Fierce fighting between riot police and Hong Kong protesters raged into the night at a major university as months-long anti-government demonstrations continued to take a violent turn for the worse on Tuesday.
Earlier the self-governing territory’s Chief Executive Carrie Lam called the protests were a “selfish act” and said the government was trying to minimise the disruption to daily life.
But it appears that the office workers who joined in during their lunch break have not heeded her call.
