A tourist survived two days at sea off the Greek islands before she was rescued by the Hellenic Coast Guard, Sunday, November 3.

Kushilla Stein, a 47-year-old from New Zealand and an experienced sailor, decided to take a small detour while delivering a yacht from Turkey to Athens. She rode a dingy to the island of Folegandros, Friday, but began floating off course when one of her oars fell in the sea.

Stein wrapped herself in plastic bags to keep warm and kept herself alive by rationing the sweets she brought with her.

The coast guard found her 55 nautical miles northwest of Crete. She was able to walk from the coast guard boat to an ambulance on her own. (AP)
