The Speaker stopped Boris Johnson’s attempt to win a quick Commons victory when he prevented the prime minister from holding another vote on the revised Brexit deal.
John Bercow said allowing it would be “repetitive and disorderly” because MPs had already debated the deal during their historic sitting on Saturday.
Number 10 accused him of denying them the chance to deliver on the will of the British people.
