It is a milestone for Iran’s female football fans – as 4,000 of them will be watching the World Cup qualifier against Cambodia in Tehran.
Women have rarely been allowed to watch football in stadiums since the start of the Iranian Revolution in 1979.
But after a young female Iranian football supporter killed herself after being caught and charged for trying to sneak into a match in September, world governing body FIFA pressured the Iranian government to act.
