The Japanese Fisheries Agency says one of its patrol boats has collided with a DPRK fishing boat in the Yamatotai area off Japan’s northern coast. Japan has rescued about 60 DPRK crew members and are searching for other fishermen thrown into the sea. Japan has stepped up patrols in the area as DPRK squid poaching has surged. In June, more than 300 DPRK boats were pushed back from the same waters.
