The UK could face a general election as prime minister Boris Johnson faces cross-party challenges to a no-deal Brexit.
According to sources, Mr Johnson could call for a general election if he loses a battle with Tory rebels over Brexit.
The government source said if the group succeed in forcing Johnson to ask Brussels to stop no-deal on 31 October, he will push for the country to go to the polls on Monday 14 October.
