Sevastopol welcomes various ships, helicopters and jets involved in a rehearsal of the sea and air parade dedicated to Russia’s Navy Day, on Saturday.

Forty military vessels, 37 jets and helicopters as well as numerous armored personal carriers took part in the rehearsal.

Footage captured the Black Sea Fleet’s Admiral Essen frigate, the Azov large landing ship and the Caesar Kunikov large landing ship taking part in the event, with the Caesar Kunikov seen firing its arms.
Russia will mark marked Navy Day on July 28, with military parades all over the country, including in Sevastopol and Saint-Petersburg.

The celebration dates back to the Soviet era, having been established in 1939. It was dissolved in 1980 but reinstated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2003.
