South Africa’s former President Jacob Zuma appeared in Pietermaritzburg High Court to have the corruption charges against him dropped.
The charges go back to the late 1990s when Zuma is alleged to have received payments for a warship contract from a French company.
Both Zuma and the company deny any wrongdoing and have applied for the case to be dropped.
Al Jazeera’s Fahmida Miller reports from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
