Labor leader Bill Shorten launches his party’s election campaign, making his first official pitch to voters on day one of the federal election campaign.
Mr Shorten focused on families, climate change, first-home buyers and highlighting the pledge he made in Labor’s Budget reply for billions of dollars to support cancer patients.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the election would be held on May 18.
