There are more knife crimes on the streets of England and Wales than at any time for almost a decade and, more than ever, young people are likely to be involved.

The Home Secretary Sajid Javid has introduced new measures to help children understand that by joining a gang and carrying a knife they are putting their lives at risk.

These knife crime prevention orders allow police to place restrictions on teenagers they suspect of carrying weapons.

Sky’s home editor Jason Farrell spoke to one gang who told him why they carry knives and what it would take for them to leave a life of crime.
