At least 12 people have died as parts of America’s Midwest freeze under the coldest conditions seen in decades.
Temperatures dropped below minus 36 celsius in some areas and now the icy conditions are eastbound heading towards New York.
It’s all being caused by what’s known as a polar vortex – a circulation of low pressure and extremely cold air that occurs over the Arctic.
Sky’s US correspondent Hannah Thomas-Peter reports from Chicago.
