Former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok, has been released from an Indonesian prison nearly two years after being found guilty of blasphemy.
In 2016, the first ethnic Chinese Christian governor of the Indonesian capital had made comments about a verse in the Quran, which led to massive protests. He was sentenced to two years in prison in 2017.
