Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were investigating reports of a massacre of Rohingya villagers when they were arrested, convicted of obtaining secret state documents, and were sentenced to seven years.
Calls for their release are growing louder on the first anniversary of their jailing, including the use of a social media hashtag: #FreeWaLoneKyawSoeOo.
The two Reuters journalists who were arrested in Myanmar exactly a year ago have been named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
Al Jazeera’s Florence Looi reports.
