Russian and Chinese forces conduct air and ground maneuvers on the fourth day of Russia’s Vostok-2018 drills.
The war games are said to be aimed at testing the combat capability of the troops in adverse environment. Vostok-2018 is taking place in Russia’s far east, close to China’s border. Mongolia is also taking part. The war games are Russia’s biggest in the country’s modern history. Some 300-thousand troops are involved. Moscow’s display of its military might comes at a time of heightened tensions between Russia and NATO. The Western military alliance has said it would closely monitor the games. The drills will continue until September 17.
