NASA’s early Australian astronaut (1969)

A rare 1960s colour story from Weekend Magazine that aired on November 23rd, 1969 (which incidentally would have been broadcast in black and white). Reporter Terry Brown interviews Dr Philip Chapman, an Australian-born scientist-astronaut at NASA, as he trains for a future Apollo mission. Unfortunately, Dr Chapman never made it into space as part of any Apollo missions. He left NASA near the close of the program in 1972.
